St Nicholas House
St Nicholas House was Aberdeen City Council’s Headquarters for 43 years. Council Officers have now moved into the new headquarters at Marischal College.
Safedem has already carried out asbestos removal and stripping out operations at St Nicholas House. The next phase of works includes the demolition of the 14 storey tower block, the three storey extension, basement, sub-basement accommodation and podium building.
Scaffolding will be erected around the 14 storey tower block and this will be demolished on a floor by floor basis. The other buildings will be demolished by more tradiotional methods using specialist demolition machines.
The buildings are expected to be demolished and the site cleared by Spring 2014.
